WoodCast – Moldable Wood Pulp for Appliqués, Furniture Restoration; Decorative Arts.

WoodCast™ is a revolutionary moldable wood pulp that lets you sculpt, press, carve, and cast your own wooden appliqués that look and behave just like hand-carved wood. Perfect for furniture repairs, decorative trims, architectural details, and 18th-century-style embellishments — all made in minutes.

• Holds incredible detail — captures fine lines and deep impressions

• Bends until fully dry — perfect for curved furniture, frames, and moldings

• Carves, sands; paints like wood — because it is wood

How to Use Woodcast:

1. Get Ready to Create  - Find a clean well, ventilated workspace, and gather your tools. Slip on your protective gloves and eye protection—this is where the fun begins! Gene’s Tip: “Think of Woodcast like sculpting wood—the more prepared your area, the smoother your creative flow.”

2. Scoop and Seal

Take out just what you need. Reseal the container fightiy ro your remaining WoodCast™ stays fresh and ready. Gene's Tip: "A little goes a long way. You can always grab more if you need it."

3. Soften (Optional)

WoodCast™ works beautifully straight from the container, but if you prefer o softer, more pliable texture, here's how.

  • Add just a touch of acetone to lightly dampen the WoodCast.
  • Gently knead the acetone into the WoodCast until it feels smooth and clay-like.
  • Add more acetone only as/ needed - slow and steady wins the race! Too much acetone can cause the WoodCast to breakdown. Gene's Tip: "You want it so it enough to mold but not soupy. Stop as soon as it feels like fresh clay.

4. Shape, Mold, or Repair

Press the WoodCast™ into your favorite mold, sculpt it freehand, or apply it right onto wood for repairs, and custam builds. You can even layer it to create 3D castings, ornaments, or decorative trims. Gene's Tip: "Get creative! Use molds for crisp details or roll it out for hand-made textures.*

5. Let It Dry Naturally

Place your creaton in a well-ventilated spot and allow it to dry completely. Dry time varies with: thickness and humidity - typically 4-6 hours or overnight for best results. A gentle fan or low heat will help it along. Gene's Tip: "If it feels cool to the touch, it's still drying - patience pays off!"

6. Finish Like a Pro

Once dry, you can sand, carve, drill, paint, or stain your piece just like real wood. The surface finishes beautifully with our Amy Howard finishes, waxes, or paints. Gene's Tip: "Sand lightly with fine grit for a silky finish before you paint —it'll feel like butter.”

7. Re-Shape Anytime You Want!

Here's the magic: simply warm your dried WoodCast piece in the microwave for 20 seconds to soften it again. Now you can bend or reshape it to fit curved surfaces, frames, or edges with ease. Gene's Tip: "This feature is a game changer - try it for wrapping moldings or fitting curved trims."

WoodCast™ gives you the freedom to design, repair, and reinvent - one imaginative project at a time. Once you try it, you'll see why Gene calls it the creative's secret weapon for custom wood detailing."
